Breitling replica watches scores with a pilot-focussed connected watch. Enter the Replica Breitling Exospace B55.
Breitling Exospace B55 Connected Replica
Breitling’s Exospace B55 Connected, launched in New York last week, was more of a surprise for what it wasn’t than for new development – since the watch was previewed at Baselworld earlier this year.
It really isn’t a smart watch, owes nothing to Android Wear and is almost wilfully irrelevant if you don’t happen to be a pilot. All that, however, is its strength. Focus and limitation can be virtues, after all. The B55 can alert you to calls, emails and messages coming in, but that seems by-the-by. What the B55 is excellent at is being a pilot’s companion and that’s what makes the watch a success in itself and as a branding exercise for Breitling.
Breitling’s brand ambassador Mark Kelly, was obviously enthusiastic, but he was able to make clear just how much pilots will like the B55, pointing straight away to the tilt-activated back-light for the replica watches for sale face as saving highly useful fractions of a second in the cockpit.
Having flown everything from A6-Intruders to the Space Shuttles, Discovery and Endeavour, Kelly has the gravitas to demand a hearing when he talks about what a pilot might actually want a connected watch to do, so it was interesting to see that he went straight to the log-book functions that are at the heart of the B55 experience.
Once set up via the iOS/Android app, a pilot can record the different time-checks that pilot and aircraft logs require with a single touch of the button – as Kelly put it, the watch saves having ink all over your hand (pilots are required to record “block-off”, take-off, landing and “block-on” times for every flight). Secondarily, the ability to have several chrono and count-down functions quickly to hand and recordable is a real boon in navigation, whether your keeping up a private pilot’s licence or riding a Soyuz craft up to the ISS, where Kelly’s brother is station commander.
Jean-Paul Girardin, Breitling’s vice-president and head of product development is a pilot himself, which helps, and it was his decision to keep the project focussed on pilot’s needs – as he said there’s already a plethora of fitness trackers and the like out there and while Breitling might look at developing other “skins” for the app and the best Breitling replica watches, flying remains the focus for now.
He also made the point that all the development comes from Breitling and therefore meets their needs. Obviously, basic electronic components are off-the-shelf (though their layout is proprietary), while the apps Breitling have written work with established mobile OS, but by controlling the development in-house, Breitling were able to favour concerns such as battery life.

The end result is a watch that is simply a logical step-on from the existing Cockpit B50 and Aerospace Evo watches, which it closely resembles. Girardin is clear that Breitling needs to use the technology that’s out there, but has no need to jump on the Android Wear bandwagon just yet.
And, according to Girardin, there’s no particular reason that the replica watches uk will be obsolete anytime in the next five years with software and firmware updates already planned for. Kelly thinks pilots will go for it and that credibility will encourage us more earthbound types. It will help too that the price differential between the B55 and B50 is hardly steep; just c.£6,500 over £5,300.
